The survey of telephone corporations

Everyone should know that a minute consists of sixty seconds. I was shocked to learn that for some prepaid calling card developers a minute - just 36 seconds. IDT in legal procedures against some of their competitors announced that it is difficult to compete on a level playing field when one minute is not one minute. In 2007 IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) iniciated a lawsuit against several companies-providers of prepaid phone cards alleging false advertising and misleading commerce operations.

According to IDT media survey, some of their competitors just provide 60 percent of the declared minutes to the consumer. In November 2007 Total Call International, Inc. and IDT/UTA have obtain a complete resolution of the lawsuit delivered by IDT Telecom, Inc. and Union Telecard Alliance, LLC against Total Call. That is the fourth group of accused which have settled the litigation commenced by IDT/UTA. Epana Networks, Inc., Dollar Phone Corp. and connected structures, and Locus Telecommunications, Inc are also involved into the assize. That unfinished suit is still on approval in the federal court in Newark, New Jersey. To let everybody know the new telephone facility terms and payment mode, one of the corporations announced the advertising notice on their website. This new method permits every client to set the duration of the minute that befits him the best, and the company will deduct units form the balance and the client will have got an ability to check exactly how many minutes were deducted and how many are left. Furthermore, they explained that it is standard on every prepaid calling cards systems. I couldn't believe that it was true. But today when I saw IDT communique, I understand that they are probably right.

So when you get a international phone card for $20.00 with 2000 minutes and you think it is too good to be true - it probably is! But remember to choose the calling card properly, and be assured that you get the quantity of units which you pay for. The companies, which have been involved into that story, engaged for returning the whole amount of minutes to their client as soon as they can. IDT/UTA hopes that if all the defendants agree with introduction of new rules, that would be good for them, as the arm of law will judge them more softly. To set up the level of paying field all the companies, that provide the telephone services should promote good practices and rules. They consented to evolve rules and systems for testing the accuracy of disclosures and denials made in relations to pay beforehand calling cards. The contracting parties agreed to promote the useful tracing system free for everybody who would like to control the operations.
