IDT in legal procedures against some of their competitors announced that it is difficult to compete on a level playing field when one minute is not one minute. In 2007 IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) iniciated a lawsuit against several companies-providers of prepaid phone cards alleging false advertising and misleading commerce operations.

According to IDT media survey, some of their competitors just provide 60 percent of the declared minutes to the consumer. In November 2007 Total Call International, Inc. and IDT/UTA have obtain a complete resolution of the lawsuit delivered by IDT Telecom, Inc. and Union Telecard Alliance, LLC against Total Call. That is the fourth group of accused which have settled the litigation commenced by IDT/UTA. Epana Networks, Inc., Dollar Phone Corp. and connected structures, and Locus Telecommunications, Inc are also involved into the assize. That unfinished suit is still on approval in the federal court in Newark, New Jersey.
